No attention! Speaker Amason Kingi calls out Karen Nyamu on Gachagua impeachment

Senator Karen Nyamu has been chastised by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi for her lack of focus throughout the legislative process.

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, while speaking during a parliamentary session, Kingi called out Nyamu for being distracted when he was outlining the processes for the planned impeachment proceedings against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Nyamu was trying to explain the procedures, but something else diverted his attention.

Kingi yelled out to Senator Karen Nyamu, “Pay attention to what I have to say.”

During an interaction with Generation Z on X Spaces on July 5, 2024, President William Ruto said that he had taken the time to talk to Nyamu about how she behaves herself in public.

Nyamu has received criticism for her habits before; in fact, this is not the first time.

After that, President William Ruto continued by saying that throughout their conversation, he had informed her that she would have to change the way that she behaved.

“I agree with the statement that some of our leaders are conceited; some of them exhibit obscene affluence, which causes the general population to feel enraged.

“Sometimes I give some of those individuals a call and tell them what’s on my mind. I do this sometimes.”

President Ruto made the statement, saying, “Even Nyamu is a girl; I have had to sit her down and tell her that she needs to change what she is doing right now.”
