President William Ruto, former Head of State Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had their first public engagement together on Saturday, November 16.
This unexpected action has left many Kenyans perplexed and caused a tremendous deal of confusion among the Kenyan people.
In Embu County, the four individuals joined together for the consecration and installation of Bishop Peter Kimani Ndung’u.
This event was the first time that Ruto and Gachagua, his former number two, had met face-to-face since the swift impeachment of Gachagua in October.
Thousands of Kenyans, most of whom were ardent Catholic Church supporters, attended the event.
A few lawmakers from Mount Kenya escorted the former deputy president, who arrived first.
A few moments later, President Ruto arrived at the gathering, accompanied by his deputy, Kithure Kindiki.
In the process of observing the concentration of Bishop Ndung’u, former Head of State Uhuru Kenyatta accompanied the congregation and joined them in their observation.
“We have gathered in a big number, and we would like to extend a warm greeting to everyone who has come to this occasion.
“This is a really polite gesture on the part of the President to be here with us today, along with his deputy,” said Bishop Anthony Muheria.
Bishop Muheria observed that it is also essential to have participation from other politicians.
“It is also a sign of respect to see Bishop Kimani Nding’u embrace the new duty of serving at the Lord’s home,” the bishop said.
“We appreciate you accepting the call and will support you, “added Bishop Muheria.
