Kenya Airways has recently donated a Boeing 737-700 to Mang’u High School in Kenya. This donation is part of the school’s centenary celebrations and aligns with Kenya Airways’ commitment to fostering education and inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals.
The aircraft was handed over in a ceremony attended by various dignitaries, including Archbishop Rev. Philip Anyolo, Mang’u Principal John Kuria, and Dr. Wilfred Kiboro, Chair of Nation Media Group.
This act of corporate social responsibility by Kenya Airways is aimed at enhancing practical training in aviation for the students at Mang’u High School, providing them with hands-on experience through the use of a real aircraft.
The donation includes not only the plane but also a simulator for practical lessons, which is intended to enrich the school’s aviation studies program.
The aircraft has been repainted with the school’s colours and now features the school’s motto, “Jishinde Ushinde,” which translates to “Conquer yourself so that you may conquer the world around you.”
The initiative has been met with positive sentiment on social platforms, with many expressing excitement about the educational opportunities it opens for students interested in aviation.
This donation is part of a broader pattern of support from Kenya Airways to educational institutions, aiming to nurture talent and drive economic growth in aviation within Kenya and across the broader African continent.
