Mnasema one term! Rigathi Gachagua Deconstruct Ruto, Addresses Crowds in Mlolongo

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, often called Riggy G, visited the people of Makutano Junction and Mlolongo in Machakos County today. He shared a strong message about what he sees as “political tricks” hurting Kenya.

Speaking to a large and excited crowd, Gachagua stressed the importance of coming together to oppose divisive politics and to bring honesty back to the country’s leadership.

During his speech, he interacted with the audience by leading a lively chant: “Nikisema Kasongo, mnasema one term!” This saying has become popular as a criticism of President William Ruto’s leadership.

“Kasongo” is a term some people use to poke fun at the president, while “one term” expresses a desire to limit Ruto to just one term in office, which many in the crowd supported.

Gachagua’s visit to Machakos is part of his wider efforts to gain support for the upcoming 2027 General Election.

He has been outspoken about wanting to challenge the influence of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in areas like Mount Kenya and others, and he plans to start a new political party in May, as reported earlier.

He assured the people of Makutano and Mlolongo that Kenya must move away from the political tricks that have held back progress.

“The great people of Machakos deserve better. We must say a big no to the political tricks that have taken over our beloved nation,” he said, earning cheers from the crowd.

The event, which got a lot of attention on social media, was organized with help from Prince John Media, showing the growing support for Gachagua’s political movement in the area.

His focus on Machakos is part of his recent efforts to build connections across Kenya, including naming interim party leaders from places like Kajiado, Kakamega, Migori, and Machakos. This is all part of his plan to create a strong political group.

Gachagua’s comments come amid rising political tension in Kenya, as the opposition increases its criticisms of the current government.

As the country prepares for future elections, it will be interesting to see if Gachagua’s message of unity and rejection of political tricks will connect with voters all over Kenya.
