Former Chairman Betting and Licensing board Lucas Maitha have been detained over irregular betting licenses awarding. Begin, Betpawa and Sportpesa and other 15 firms have been out of business following the new directives from the government.
Former BCLB Chairman is alleged awarded licenses without following the due processes.
It's also claimed that he siphoned 600M from the firms as kickbacks for awarding licenses.
It is still unknown how the others succeeded Chairmen balanced the books as the government estimates 3.5Billion got lost from 2011-2018 in the BCLB, KRA and Betting companies transactions.
