The Education Ministry disclosed about the KCSE marking and results today. The Ministry through Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang said results will be out before 20th December 2019.

The marking of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination will start on Thursday this week.

Candidates will sit for their last computer paper on Wednesday, November 27. Some completed their exams last Wednesday while others finished on Thursday and left their schools.
This year, 699,745 candidates sat for the KCSE.

Some 26,997 examiners are expected to mark this year’s exams.


Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha said the examination results will be released before Christmas probable between 19th -21st December to allow students to start preparing for life in college and university as they shape their career path.


Last year, KCSE results were released on December 21.


Cases of cheating were minimal this year compared to last year. The exams period was marred with little teen pregnancies compared to last year. 

Cases of impersonation recorded this year were 11 compared to 20 last year.
