There was drama in Kagio village, Kirinyaga county, on Friday, November 29, after Jubilee nominated Member of Parliament Maina Kamanda was heckled by a section of residents at a funds drive.
The lawmaker who is a strong supporter of the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former prime minister Raila Odinga had a rough time addressing the rally as residents chanted Deputy President William Ruto slogans.
Kagio is home of the Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho.
" The Majority of Mt Kenya residents will support Deputy President William Ruto because of what the President said before 2017 elections. The President said will have his Ten years and Ruto his Ten years in leadership," Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi said.
" We know RiftValley has a good number of Mt. Kenya communities. By default, all these will vote for Deputy President William Ruto. 2007/2008 chaos is still fresh in the minds. " he added.
