Dr. Alfred Mutua, the troubled Machakos governor, has drawn the line at Martha Karua, a former Gichugu lawmaker.

Martha, according to Alfred Mutua, who spoke at the Kenya Kwanza economic forum in Nakuru, is an agnostic who does not believe in the power of God.

Machakos Governor indicated that he was pleased with Mathira member of parliament Rigathi Gachagua's appointment because he's such a frequent churchgoer.

"You know how much God loves us. Rigathi Gachagua, our deputy president and buddy, has caught my attention. He is a Christian, and I have seen him go to church with his wife to pray on multiple occasions. They have, on the other side, nominated an atheist as a deputy president. She does not believe in God.

However, a number of Kenyans took issue with Alfred Mutua's comments on Martha Karua, accusing him of smearing Karua with petty and baseless accusations.

Kenyans told Mutua the following things:

"What crime has she executed?" Isn't it her right to religious freedom? Do not combine spiritual and political affairs; additionally, only those who do what the supreme father above desires will be admitted to the kingdom."

"It appears that if you are not in Kenya kwanza, you are not aware of God." It appears to me that God resides in a certain hamlet that only Kenya kwanza are aware of, and that whenever they go to worship him, they do not see others whom they accuse of not knowing God."
