The execution of a well-known blogger and social media influencer Frank Obegi and three of his best buddies have created a stir.
Their bodies were discovered in Magadi, Kajiado County, and Kijabe Forest, Kiambu County, slaughtered.
Obegi, Elijah Omeka, and Moses Nyachae's bodies were thrown into Kijabe Forest, while Fred Obare's was discovered near Magadi.
Those found at Kijabe Forest were sent to the city mortuary on June 19 and labelled "unknown," while Obare's body was transported to the same morgue on June 20.
Some of the hostages were allegedly enticed to meet their assassins by an unidentified woman.
The victims discovered at Kijabe Forest did not have private parts, according to Lari police chief Abraham Furaha. Wild creatures had devoured some of their internal organs.
He went on to say that they were clearly tormented before being squeezed to death.
When two of the four buddies went missing, their colleagues rushed to report it, only to vanish as well, according to sources.
The murdered guys were dubbed "soft life ambassadors" because they lived life on the fast track.
The origin of large sums of money was reportedly unknown. Stories of how the trio defrauded naive Kenyans abound on social media.
