Former Bungoma East MP Mark Barasa family

Mark Barasa was a former member of parliament for Bungoma East. On Wednesday, his body was found on the property he shared with his family in Tongaren, Bungoma County.

The first MP for Bungoma East, 99-year-old Barasa, served from 1963 to 1969.

The eyes, tongue, and left hand of the dead were reportedly removed, and the corpse had been partly burned with acid.

The family said that they had looked everywhere for him and even made public announcements in the hopes of locating him since they believed he had lost his memory and was unable to get back to their house.

Barasa had 27 children from his four marriages.

His family remembered him by saying that when he was an MP, important projects like Webuye Pan Papers, Lugulu Girls, Chesamisi Boys, and Friends School Kamusinga were started.

Now, the families of the people who were hurt are begging the government to hurry up with its investigations and bring those responsible to justice.

The mortuary at Cherengany Nursing Home received the corpse.

However, cases of people's body parts removed are rampant and claim there is a cult rooting for the parts for rituals.
