On Saturday, Nottingham Forest will host Liverpool at the City Ground in a highly anticipated match.

The Tricky Trees will be seeking to avenge their crushing defeat to the Reds, who won by a large margin when the two teams last met in late October under Steve Cooper's leadership.

The likes of Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, and Darwin Nunez scored for Liverpool in that game, but they may not feature in this game, with Jota already confirmed to be out.

Nottingham Forest has had a rather mixed bag of results since the start of 2024, with one win, one draw, and four losses.

Their last match saw them lose 4-2 to Aston Villa, and they currently sit in 17th place in the league, four points clear of the relegation zone, after Everton's points deduction was reduced to six points.

Meanwhile, Liverpool has been in fantastic form, having won their last three Premier League games with ease, following a disappointing loss earlier in February.

They also claimed the League Cup title last weekend with a hard-fought win over Chelsea in extra time.

For the game against Nottingham Forest, the Reds will be hoping that some of their key players, including Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez, Dominik Szobozslai, and Wataru Endo, who are all currently nursing injuries, will be available to play.

Nottingham Forest will have both Morgan Gibbs-White and ex-Liverpool prospect Taiwo Awoniyi available for selection, which could give them a chance to cause an upset on the day.

As for team news, Liverpool will be without several key players, such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara, and Diogo Jota, who will be out for months.

However, the likes of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Wataru Endo are all questionable for the game.

On the other hand, Nottingham Forest will be without the likes of Chris Wood, Gonzalo Montiel, Nuno Tavares, Ola Aina, Ibrahima Sangare, and Willy Boly.
