A court in Nairobi has told Runda Police Station OCS to find a way to get Aldai MP Maryanne Jebet Keitany out of a house owned by Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi.

This is because the court of appeals decided not to stop her eviction since she planned to challenge the decision that they were not legally married when they shared a home.

The eviction orders were issued by Chief Magistrate Wendy Micheni after taking into account earlier decisions made by Judge Maureen A. Odero on January 20, 2023, and rulings dated September 27, 2022.

According to the court order, “it is hereby ordered that the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Runda Police Station, Nairobi, or any other officer from the said station of the rank above an Assistant Inspector of Police be and is hereby ordered to provide security and police assistance in evicting Hon. Maryanne Jebet Keitany from House Number 16 Mae Ridge County Villas on LR No. 7785/1324 (IR NO123703) situated in Runda Estate, Nairobi.”

The High Court authorized Linturi to remove Keitany from the lavish residence in January.

Keittany had submitted a request to stay at the Runda house, but it had been denied.

According to Justice Odero, she completely lacks the authority to hear the appeal.

The Aldai lawmaker said that since she was Linturi’s wife, she had the right to live in the house.

However, the court found that they never had a married relationship.
