Mithika Linturi Impeachment Report missing, alleged bribed Sh55 million for freedom

Mithika Linturi bribes Sh 55 Million for freedom

Sources claim Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi bribed 11 members of parliament in a parliamentary committee probing fake fertiliser and his impeachment.

Linturi had to part ways with Sh 55 million to get his freedom from the axe that was almost on his throat. The President William Ruto ally escaped the shocker after being branded” mweupe kama Pamba” by the impeachment probing committee.

However, sources also claim that the charge sheet was wrong, erroneous, and faulty. Did not meet the legal standards beyond any reasonable shadow of doubt. Therefore, he got the benefit of doubt, resulting in his acquittal.

The National Assembly had published today’s Order Paper for the Special Sitting on their website, and, wonder of wonders, the Mithika Linturi Impeachment Report is missing.

However, netizens claim that this was coming immediately after the plenary route was abandoned. The committee’s way always seems to be easily compromised, leading to the breaking news on Linturi’s acquittal on Monday.

Seven out of 11 committee members investigating Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi’s involvement in the fake fertilizer scandal vote to save him from impeachment.

Samuel Chepkong’a (UDA, Ainabkoi) abstained from voting. The committee chaired by Marsabit Woman Representative Naomi Wago is bound by the Constitution to report back to the House within 10 days.

Netizens commented on his acquittal:

“He was never going to be impeached. The Statehouse wasn’t going to allow it since we all know that scandal probably started there. The president will never fight corruption; that’s why he never wants to discuss it. It all ends up pointing towards him anyway,” @Wanjiku said on X.

“I don’t find anything wrong with it, SC! It’s a matter of precedence. Birds of a feather normally share a mission statement. This is what is accessible in the public domain at the moment,” @tom_Mzaliwa said on X.

“Source of the funds? This is why this regime will never tame corruption: 1. The oversight of Parliament is corrupt. 2. The regime condones corruption, which proceeds to be used to cleanse corrupt government officials. 3. The President is blackmailed by the politicians who campaigned for him.” @tosh highlighted on X.

“The name of the state house chief of staff and head of public service was mentioned countless times in the whole scandal. There’s more than Linturi in the whole saga,” Mugambi said on X.
