Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha says school re-opening is the main course and the state will give each learner at-least  two facemasks.

“The Kenyan government also intends to provide at least two face masks to every learner, ” he said.

The Cabinet Secretary added that each classroom to have 15 to 20 learners when schools reopen.

However, the movie has been echoed by the KNUT secretary general Wilson Sossion. He cautioned the ministry that the schools already have insufficient facilities.

“Some schools have 50-70 children per classroom. If you try to make them 20 then it means they will occupy 3 classes. Where will the other two classes go? Under trees?” Mr Sossion asked.

The recommendations came after the President ordered the re-opening of the schools by September in order to proceed with the intended curriculum.
