Nairobi’s Eastlands Residents Suffer After Mama Margaret Kenyatta Hospital Near-Collapses Following Sakaja’s Interference
The once premier health facility which had over 350 bed capacity is now a ghost hospital with key units having shut down.
The Accident and Emergency Unit, the Children Clinic and the Renal Unit are all shut down.
The Kenyatta Hospital which was previously running this facility withdrew all equipment amounting to ksh400m leaving it an empty shell after Johnson Sakaja insisted that Nairobi county would run the hospital.
The County Government cannot run this Hospital. They have no qualified personnel. They have no equipment and are marred with salary delays for staff.
Residents wonder why the dysfunctional Nairobi City County insisted on taking over the management of a hospital that they cannot run.
The hospital has now become a ghost facility with fewer activities than before. The administration blames the county for not taking action on medical-related activities in the hospital.
