Pastor Ezekiel Odero of the New Life Prayer Centre (NPCC) in Kilifi has suffered a setback. The Court of Appeal has decided not to delay his church’s previously suspended deregistration.
His operating license was canceled because he failed to comply with the requirements for submitting annual reports.
Because the NPCC had not yet exhausted all existing dispute resolution channels, the court mandated that they first appeal to the Cabinet Secretary and then appeal to the High Court.
The NPCC’s failure to submit an exemption request or provide any unique circumstances led to the application’s rejection.
Pastor Paul Mackenzie’s arrest and the discovery of multiple deaths in Shakahola set off a series of problems. According to church connections, the bodies allegedly belonged to his congregation.
Before the tragedy in Shakahola, Pastor Ezekiel had purchased a television station from Pastor Paul Mackenzie.
Their business dealings and relationship came under scrutiny, and this decision raised eyebrows.
Additionally, a dispute erupted between Miles Funeral Home and the pastor over the transportation of deceased individuals to the facility.
According to Milele, the pastor permitted those who were extremely ill to attend his church, while others passed away and had them transported to their facility.
