Do you remember the BRAVE Gen Z who stood in All Saints Cathedral and talked about rejecting Finance Bill 2024? His name is Collins Odhiambo. He led other Gen Zs to REJECT the Finance Bill DURING a mass at St. Cathedral in June. Police detained him early in the morning for no other reason than that he was in possession of our flag and causing a disturbance, and they took him to the Capitol Hill police station.
Police officers arrest and detain Collins Odhiambo, who is charged with causing disturbance at All Saints Cathedral Church. He was only carrying a national flag, so he asked the church for a platform.
Collins Odhiambo is one of the few voices remaining after advocating for the fall of the finance bill 2024/2025.
After the famous July 25th protests, most of the vocal voices have been kidnapped, killed, or disappeared.
The move comes after All Saints Cathedral demanded an apology from then Inspector General of Police, Japhet Koome.
The All Saints Cathedral demanded an apology from the Inspector General of Police, Japhet Koome, over police officers’ conduct during the anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests in Nairobi.
In a statement on Sunday, the church said that protesters took refuge in their premises on Tuesday, June 25, but officers still lobbed teargas canisters and fired live rounds of ammunition in their compound, harming some people.
“At 4:30 pm, a contingent of military officers stormed the compound of ASC, threatening everyone they found.”
The statement partially read, “They ordered unarmed, peaceful youth to lie down, and they shot live bullets indiscriminately in the compound.”
