Modern Coast buses are now back after the NTSA lifted the ban. According to their statement, Modern Coast Express Limited has been allowed Io to operate as normal but with caution.
The company said it will give vouchers for those affected by the ban from Ksh. 300 and above per ticket according to the ticket cost and bus class.

This is a further update to the statement issued on 17.12.2019.
We are pleased to inform all our passengers that we have received permission from NTSA to resume normal scheduled bus services from 1.00 pm today the 17.12.2019.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused to all affected passengers who were not able to travel between the 12.12.2019 and 16.12.2019
We shall share the full scheduled buses for today 17.12.2019 within 1 hour.
