Abductors took Maverick Aoko Otieno to the DCI headquarters in the morning. She was arrested in the wee hours of the morning.
Many suspect she is being charged because of these posts from a fake account that doesn’t belong to her.
She is being held at Muthaiga Police Station. They have refused to grant her cash bail.
“This is Aoko’s assistant. They arrested her this morning and have since detained her. They have also denied her access to legal counsel.
“I went to see @AokoOtieno_Maverick today at @DCI_Kenya headquarters. The charge against her is vexatious, frivolous, ficky, and limping. The DCI is on a fishing expedition,” Embakasi MP Babu Owino said.
According to other sources, the Muthaiga Police Station is holding her, but the officers have refused to grant her the constitutional right to bail.
“Maverick Aoko’s detention is unlawful, malicious, and an insult to our democracy.
“She’s harmless, and just like any other Kenyan, she’s using X as a tool to express the atrocities we’re facing as a nation,” the MP added.
