How Elwak Referral Hospital is becoming ghost hospital

Elwak Referral Hospital, once a vital healthcare resource for thousands, is now teetering on the edge of collapse.

The hospital is critically low on essential medical supplies, preventing it from providing basic medications and performing necessary surgeries.

A severe shortage of antibiotics, painkillers, and life-saving drugs is turning away patients.

This forces those in need of treatment to travel long distances, often with fatal consequences.

Surgical procedures are also on hold because of missing supplies like surgical strips and gloves.

According to reports, the hospital failed to provide the necessary blood and surgical equipment in one recent case, forcing the woman in need of an emergency caesarean section to go elsewhere.

The absence of a functional blood bank is making the situation even more critical.

Residents say that without immediate intervention, this health crisis will escalate into a full-blown humanitarian disaster.
