Sen Kamau Murango buys helicopter ahead of Kirinyaga gubernatorial race 2027

Kirinyaga County Senator James Kamau Murango has caused a lot of talk and excitement by buying a helicopter. Many believe he is getting ready to run for governor in the 2027 general election.

This news has led to discussions about how much money the senator has and his political plans. Some people are saying that his new helicopter might be connected to the influence of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Murango is a well-known member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and used to be the Majority Leader in the Kirinyaga County Assembly.

He is getting ready to compete against others when Governor Anne Waiguru’s time in office ends.

Murango was elected as Kirinyaga’s senator in 2022, getting 196,151 votes.

He has been a strong supporter of farming development and helping the county, using his experience as a farmer in Mwea Constituency.

His political story includes leading a plan to remove Governor Waiguru from office in 2020, but they later made peace to support UDA’s goals together.

In 2022, he won the senatorial election, riding a wave of support for UDA in Kirinyaga and defeating Jubilee’s candidate, Daniel Karaba.

Now, the 2027 election campaigns are almost here. Murango’s helicopter purchase shows he is preparing for a big campaign, similar to the campaign of billionaire Ephraim Maina in Nyeri in 2017, which also used helicopters.

The buy aligns with Murango’s visible wealth, which he reportedly has earned from farming macadamia nuts and coffee and raising livestock, making him millions each month.
